Since 2014, ACARBIO in collaboration with the local schools of the Amalfi Coast and other local associations awards the Francesca Mansi Award for the environment. It centers around a competition between school classes about environmental protection topics and aspects of the Amalfi Coast. It was created to remember Francesca Mansi, a young woman of the Coast, who died 2010 in a flooding, caused by terrace depriviation. The spirit and the vision of the award is to remember Francesca, and to protect the local landscape, the cultural heritage of the terraces and the environment, allowing it’s pupulation to appreciate and benefit from.
